LARRY BECK

This is not really my photo, but that of Geronimo, a Bedonkohe Apache leader of the Chiricahua Apache, who led his people's defense of their homeland against the military might of the United States.  He died in US military custody in 1879, far from his Southwest American homeland.  On his deathbed he is reported to have said: "I should have never surrendered. I should have fought until I was the last man alive."

HARD LEFT TURN is my best effort to keep on fighting for a better human condition on the planet we share.  I encourage others to use this platform to contribute to this cause.

    BUNKERED DOWN

Attorney General Barr announced today that President Trump has been moved to the official White House bunker.  The move was necessitated by Trump's concerns about a lawless "autonomous zone" in Washington.  Jared Kushner has been tasked with locating this zone, determining its proximity to the White House and personally eliminating the threat.  Kushner's family has been moved to a secret country club in New Jersey until the mission is completed.

    BOXED AWAY FROM REALITY

As I turn seventy and look back on a lucky life, there is some measure of pride in having spent a substantial portion of that life in the service of others.  However, that pride is tinged with the realization that I didn’t do enough and that wha...

    OBSERVATIONS FROM THE RV TRAIL

The American southland has a lot of good things going for it.  Number one on my list is that there are Dairy Queens everywhere.  Since I don’t eat things that begin with the words “chicken fried,” as in chicken fried steak, having the sof...

    MONEY TALKS, PROGRESSIVES WALK

I have just returned from a month-long trip through a large swath of America’s southland.  About a week ago, on my way out of the Okefenokee Swamp in southern Georgia, I went through the very small town of Enigma, Georgia.  There isn’t mu...
